LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – There's a new and exciting way for Walt Disney World visitors to choose their Star Wars destination, be it Jedi or Sith, and live their adventure inspired by a galaxy far, far away.
Now open in the Once Upon a Toy store at the Downtown Disney Marketplace, the "Build Your Own Lightsaber" kiosk, a step-by-step Star Wars experience that invites guests to build custom lightsabers with thousands of unique possibilities.
The experience takes guests through nine steps in which they choose each part of their lightsaber, including the color of the blade, the sleeve rings, the handle sleeves and the ignition switches.
Each lightsaber features authentic Star Wars sound effects, and guests can select crystals and color filters to project the legendary shine of the lightsaber blade (purple, green, red or blue).
From the beginning, the guests opt for a Jedi or Sith lightsaber, with custom parts containers available for each order. Guests can create their own design or follow instructions to replicate the lightsabers used by favorite Star Wars characters such as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader. Each electronic lightsaber has specialized lights, sounds and vibrations.
Once they are complete, the guests proceed to the checkout where they receive the batteries to light their creation and a Jedi or Sith Pin exclusive to the store.
No matter how elaborate the design is, guests can even create a double-bladed lightsaber like the one made famous by the evil Sith apprentice, Darth Maul: each completed lightsaber costs $ 19.95.
The "Build Your Own Lightsaber" screen is the ultimate in customizable merchandise experiences at Once Upon a Toy, joining the "Build Your Own Potato Head" and "Create Your Own My Little Pony" areas.
